Privacy

Your data, plainly.

What Bodicise collects, why we need it, who helps us handle it, and how to have it deleted.

The short version. Your photo is used once to read your body type and then deleted. We keep what we need to build your plan and send it to you. We do not sell your data, we run no ads or tracking, and your gym only sees your details if you tick the box to share them. Email support@bodicise.com and we will delete everything we hold about you.

Who we are

Bodicise is a fitness company at 317 Hoople Ave., Cornwall, Ontario K6J 2A5, Canada. We are responsible for the personal information described here. Questions about privacy go to support@bodicise.com.

Your photo

To read your body type, the photo you take is sent to our body-type model. For the few seconds the model needs to read it, the photo sits in temporary cloud storage at a randomly named, unlisted address. As soon as the read is done, it is deleted. We do not keep your photo, we do not look at it, and your gym never sees it. What we keep is the result: your body type.

What we collect and why

WhatWhy
Your body typeIt decides how your plan is built.
Your answers: goal, experience, the time you have, your equipment, and any injuries you tell us aboutTo size the plan to you and work around injuries. Injury details count as health information, so we only use them to build your plan.
Your name and emailTo send your plan, the weekly check-in emails that go with it, and replies to your questions.
Account details, if you create an account (name, email, password)So you can sign in. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see them.
Your plan and the sessions you tick offSo your plan page and dashboard remember your progress, and your weekly emails can follow it.
Payment, if you buy a planCard payments are handled by Stripe. We receive a payment confirmation, your email and the amount, never your card number.
Your first name, email and body type, if you ask for your body type reportTo email your report and, because you ticked the box, three short follow-up emails over the following week. We record when you agreed and what you agreed to. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and the follow-ups stop if you buy a plan.
If you give a plan: your name and email, and the name, email and note you write for the person receiving itTo email them your gift once, send you a confirmation and receipt, and let them claim it. We don't add them to any mailing list.
Which gym link you came from, if anySo a partner gym's free offer applies to you, and so the gym can see how many people started a plan.

Partner gyms

If you arrive through a partner gym (for example DEVfit or Caveman Strong), the most the gym sees is totals: how many people started or finished a plan, and the mix of goals. It does not see your photo, your answers or your plan.

Some gyms offer a follow-up, such as a free consultation. If, and only if, you tick the box to be contacted, we share your first name, email, goal and body type with that gym so they can get in touch. From then on, that gym's own privacy practices apply to what they hold.

The January group

If you apply to the January group, we keep your application (name, email, town, where you train, your experience and goal) to choose the group and run its check-ins at weeks 2, 4 and 8. If you tick the box for the public group page, it shows your body type and a number (for example "Triangle 07"), the week, how many sessions you have ticked off, whether you trained in the last 7 days and your latest check-in rating. It never shows your name, email, town, gym, photo or any dates. A body type's average appears only once at least 5 people of that type are on the page. Every check-in email has a link to leave the page.

Who helps us

We use a small number of service providers to run Bodicise. They process your information on our behalf and only for these purposes:

Some of these providers store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.

What we do not do

To see whether the site is working, we count visits to the gym pages and the assessment page, and how many assessments are started and finished, by gym and body type. These counts are anonymous: no names, emails, cookies or IP addresses are attached.

Your browser stores a few small items on your own device so the site works: which gym link you came from, and where you are in your plan. On pages where you can pay, Stripe may set cookies to prevent fraud. You can clear all of these at any time in your browser settings.

How long we keep it

Your photo: seconds. Everything else: for as long as you have a plan or an account with us. If you ask us to delete your information, we delete it from our systems, except anything we must keep by law, such as payment records.

Your choices

Write to support@bodicise.com. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Age

Bodicise is meant for adults. If you are under 16, please do not use it without a parent or guardian.

Not medical advice

Your plan is general fitness guidance, not medical advice. If you have a health condition or an injury, check with your doctor before you start.

Changes

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date below. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email before it applies to you.
